I used this shortcut previously, but I found that I almost always wanted to edit the alt text. The alt text itself is good, but it doesn't know about the context the image is in.

So one of the edits I did to Jarrod's excellent Micro.blog uploader shortcut, is to just give me a text prompt to write a manual alt text. And I think of it like "if I was reading the blog post out loud to someone, what would I say about the image? Nothing more, nothing less."

I feel like these AI alt text generators often fall into the trap of being "very competent, but missing the point". That being said, they're much better than nothing, and I also think they are great to give a starting point (that sometimes can be used as is).
